Porsche's new Cayman has been heralded as a 'tour de force' in motoring, with the revamped supercar likely to lead to a marked rise in unsecured car loan applications.
With market figures showing that the manufacturer's sales figures have fallen by 30 per cent in 2008 when compared to the previous year, a new review in the Telegraph has concluded that "the Cayman has been a breath of fresh air for the marque".
Alongside a top speed of 165mph and a zero to 62mph time of just 5.8 seconds for the manual model, the Cayman is also now available in a PDK model, capable of hitting 172mph and reaching 62mph in 5.1 seconds.
What's more, the German firm has also introduced improvements to the car's suspension and brakes, while car loan customers will also benefit from a redesigned gearbox, the newspaper has reported.
Indeed, the report suggested that, with falling prices making for a buyers' market at present, it may even be worthwhile looking into a car loan to purchase a new Porsche.
"Saving money by buying a Porsche seems something of an oxymoron, but if you're after a classic two- SEAT sports coupé, the Cayman is as good as it gets," it concluded.
