Car producer Skoda has been named manufacturer of the year by the Auto Express Driver Power survey.
The company has come second in the poll for the past five years, but in 2009 it has managed to overtake luxury brand Lexus to claim the number one spot, in a move that could encourage more demand for the company's used cars.
"It's really no surprise that, yet again, our owners are proclaiming that Skoda really is the manufacturer of happy drivers," said the firm's UK brand director Robert Hazelwood. "This bears out what is at the heart of our business - our customers."
He continued: "We're proud of this award and pleased that our owners are satisfied with their Skodas."
Last year, Skoda won a hat-trick of awards, with the Octavia scooping the Auto Express estate car of the year in its Used Car Honours, as well as the firm's website picking up Auto Trader's website of the year award and the Superb model being named towcar of the year by the Caravan Club.
