Transport emissions 'a big issue for the capital'

Drivers in the capital - including those looking for Car Loans - have been warned that the issue of transport emissions will be high on the agenda of those in the London Mayoral race.

Environmental campaigners Greenpeace has urged the candidates to take the issue seriously.

Each candidate for the role has proposed a number of initiatives to tackle the capital's environmental impact, including the introduction of £25-a-day congestion charges and low emission zones to improve air quality.

As a result, residents of the capital looking to use car loans to purchase a vehicle may be looking for greener vehicles to reduce the impact they have on the environment.

Ben Stewart, spokesperson for Greenpeace, said: "Climate change is a priority."

The British Retail Consortium has also highlighted the fact that whoever wins will need to take the issue of transport seriously as retailers and consumers - possibly interested in Car Finance - need sufficient access to London's retail centres.

The four main candidates are Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson, Brian Paddick and Sian Berry.
