The finance you need The car you want

Car Finance customers in the UK are being urged by the RAC Foundation to understand and "buy in to" new vehicle technologies.

According to the RAC Foundation, new technologies will not be able to solve Britain's transport problems unless the public demonstrates a desire to understand new systems.

Elizabeth Dainton, RAC Foundation research development management, told a conference in London that policy makers expect IT to play a major role in reducing environmental, safety and congestion pressure on Britain's road transport network, potentially improving the situation for drivers with personal Car Loans.

"The willingness of the public to accept new technology and the support of politicians to carry forward initiatives are essential if we are to maintain an efficient fleet both now and in the future," she explained.

However, Ms Dainton claims that public support and understanding is vital to its success, with statistics predicting that motorists will be traveling 38 per cent further and increasing car journeys by 24 per cent by 2041.

The government unveiled new schemes this week to tackle congestion on roads, including the decision to use the hard shoulders of busy motorways to reduce congestion.
