Motorists who choose to spend their Car Loans buying a used vehicle over the internet may be among the car buyers who are concerned they will fall victim to fraudsters in the process.
According to findings by independent vehicle information provider HPI, 60 per cent of used car buyers taking advantage of online offers worry about fraud when making their purchase.
In addition, nearly 70 per cent of respondents said that they also feel more vulnerable to car crime when buying a vehicle in this way.
More positively, however, most of those questioned said that they felt they had a good range of choices available to them via the internet, with convenience being a bonus for 63 per cent of people.
"There's good news for sellers, because 45 per cent of those surveyed said they would be prepared to travel over 100 miles for the car they wanted, having done all the necessary online checks to ensure it was worth the journey," commented Nick Lindsay, director of HPI.
