A car set to come onto the market later this year has received an award in the US for its safety features.
Motorists planning to invest in a car loan for a new purchase might want to consider the credentials of the NISSAN Murano, which has won the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick award.
To gain the award from the group of insurers, the model had to perform well in three different tests - front, side and rear crash protection.
The model is fitted with electronic stability control and was one of only two sports utility vehicles to gain the top rating for protection against whiplash.
A traction control system and six airbags are among the car's safety features, which also include seatbelt sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system and SEAT occupant head protection in the front and rear. Front and rear crumple zones have also been constructed to help send crash energy away from passenger compartments.
