Nissan's latest sports car has proved popular with buyers, long before the first model rolls off the production line.
The company has already taken 1,250 deposits from buyers since the order books for the new GT-R opened on April 2nd last year and fans will now be able to get behind the wheel of the model for the first time.
Nissan's GT-R launches today (April 9th) and will come highly recommended after winning a number of awards over the course of the past 12 months.
"The very first British buyers will take delivery of their GT-Rs from Nissan's network of 11 High Performance Centres [this morning]," the motor manufacturer announced.
It added: "Subsequent deliveries are planned for soon after although such is the demand for this halo model that those ordering one now can expect to wait at least a year."
The excitement surrounding the new sports car could help to inspire people to head into the used car market to find an older NISSAN model.
And the number of GT-Rs being sold could also result in more cars coming onto the used car market, as people trade in their older versions for the newest model.
Earlier this week, Nissan launched its latest entry into the small car market, unveiling the Pixo.
The company expects the new model to slot into the market between its Micra and Note vehicles.
