Nissan Announces New Infiniti Concept

Feb 17 2011 Nissan Announces New Infiniti Concept Image

The first pictures of the Infiniti Etherea, the concept car that will have its debut at the Geneva Motor Show later this year, have been released by Nissan. This car will no doubt be welcomed by UK car finance users, especially the younger generation who have been looking forward to an entry level Infiniti for some time.

According to Nissan the car is a blend of hatchback, coupe and sedan. Nissan states it is a "crossover in one highly sculptural, near-mono volume form."

Infinity does not currently have an entry-level model to compete with cars such as the BMW 1 Series and the Lexus CT 200h. Both cars have been extremely popular with UK car finance buyers and they have served another purpose: to broaden the appeal of the manufacturers' top end models.

At the moment the Etherea is still very much in its concept stage. There are rumours, however, that a production model could be on the cards as early as 2014. The car will be built in collaboration with Renault, Nissan's partner in Europe.

Toru Saito from Infiniti said that the Etherea is certainly not simply a smaller version of one of the company's traditional luxury cars. According to him the car is a brand new luxury model aimed at the luxury car market for younger buyers.

Many UK car finance buyers will no doubt attend this year's Geneva Motor Show, which promises to be one of the best in many years, with several manufacturers showcasing brand new models. There will also be more electric cars on show than in any previous year.
