Nissan Micra’s new avatar in the US

Nov 22 2010 Penske Automotive Group which has its subsidiary in Smart USA has revealed that it has been able to sign a MOU with Nissan to jointly launch the Nissan Micra in the US in a new avatar. Penske, consumers will know represents 40 diverse brands and also operates about 25 collision repair service centres. It also sells used cars and has about 173 franchises in over 17 states. It has a huge presence in the UK as well.
The new vehicle would be in the form of a five-door vehicle in the B- segment category running on gasoline. It would be sold through Smart US dealers by the fourth quarter in the year 2011 and will be surely be well backed by car loan and other car credit finance schemes.
The focus would be on providing efficiency as well as performance and Smart USA President said that he would endeavour to keep up to the high standards set by companies like Daimler and Nissan. He said the aim is to increase the product line-up.
Not much detail about the MOU is available at the moment as the transaction is going through the usual documentation formalities.
