Nissan has released the first pictures of its brand new Invitation concept car that will make its debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. According to industry insiders the super-mini MPV is the forerunner of next year’s replacement for the Nissan Note.
The sporty lines of the Invitation were clearly influenced by the Juke crossover. The car certainly looks a lot more aggressive than the Note. The pictures clearly show sharp headlights, deep bumpers and a panoramic glass roof.
On the inside both the steering wheel and door trims have sharp creases. The uncluttered, smooth centre console boasts round climate control dials and a touch screen display, while there is a sculpted “island” for the gearlever.
The sports seats are heavily bolstered and we do not expect them to feature in any production model soon. The Note replacement would rather have flat-folding flexible seats much like the present model.
We expect the engine range of the new model to be very similar to that of the current model as well, which means a 1.5-litre diesel and two petrol versions: a 1.4-litre and a 1.6-litre.
Insiders also speculate about the possibility that Nissan will offer the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder DIG-S petrol engine used in the current Micra as an option. This one has emission figures of only 99g/km and it offers stop-start technology.
If this sounds like the perfect candidate for your next auto finance package, you will have to wait until late next year and prepare yourself for a price tag of around £12,500.
