Nissan light commercial sales on the up

Those who took out van finance or a van loan in the month of March could have used it to buy a vehicle from Nissan, with the firm noting a 23 per cent growth in sales of light commercial vehicles compared with the same quarter in 2007.
Some 1,713 light commercial vehicles were sold by NISSAN during March, with the total for the first quarter of the year reaching 2,501 units.
The Navara pickup was perhaps the star of the commercial vehicle market for Nissan, with the company noting that it continued to be the number one best seller.
"Customers have voted with their wallets and recognised the Navara for the outstanding pick-up it is," said Paul Willcox, managing director of Nissan.
Mr Wilcox added that the Navara has now "assumed the position it rightly deserves and firmly established itself as top dog in the segment", following on from a number of press awards.
According to the Nissan website, the Navara puts the driver in control "of every situation".
