Car Finance customers looking for a more economical car could go for a PEUGEOT model which has just broken two records.
One of the firm's 308 HDi 110 hatchbacks has just been driven around the coast of Australia and set two fuel-related benchmarks which could be of interest to car loan customers.
The car managed a remarkable 1,192 miles on 60 litres of diesel fuel and chalked up an impressive 90.75mpg during the trip.
Husband and wife driving duo John and Helen Taylor set the new world records, which were previously held by another Peugeot model.
Mr Taylor said: "We were very aware of the strong environmental credentials of the 308 before we set out on this journey, but we had no idea it would be such a record breaker."
Peugeot executives called the feat "outstanding" and said the achievement proved economical driving could save money and pressure on the environment.
The Peugeot 308 is available with a range of fuel efficient engines, including the HDi 90 and 110 bhp diesel models which also have CO2 emissions of 120g/km.
The records have been verified by an independent adjudicator to ensure requirements of the Guinness World Record regulations were met.
This week Peugeot also released an 'Urban Move' edition of its 107 model, which has CO2 emissions of 109 g/km.
