Peugeot's decision to sign up to a new code of practice for servicing and repairs may be of benefit to Car Loans customers who own one of the company's models.

The code is intended to improve standards within the sector and provides a guarantee against work that is carried out.

Andy Bye, director of quality and customer relations at Peugeot, said the firm is "delighted" that its dealers throughout the UK have signed up to the initiative.

He commented: "All customers will benefit from this initiative because they have access to dependable, honest and fair services, transparent pricing, completion of work as agreed, invoices that match quoted prices, served by competent and conscientious staff."

Used car owners may be interested to know that business secretary John Hutton welcomed the introduction of the new code of practice.

Mr Hutton said regular inspections and strict penalties will ensure that people get a "good deal".
