Peugeot tops green sales
Mar 31 2009Car manufacturer PEUGEOT has revealed its environmentally-friendly vehicles are among the top sellers in Europe.
According to the company, its fuel-efficient and eco-friendly cars are Europe's top sellers among the green market, potentially increasing interest from those looking to buy used cars that offer a high standard of fuel efficiency.
Peugeot's Eurpean operations sold more cars with carbon emissions of less than 121 grams per kilometre during 2008 than any other marque, with one in six vehicles sold in the green market being a Peugeot.
"Peugeot offers drivers a wide choice when looking to make an environmentally-conscious decision," the company said.
The firm's green credentials could help to sell more used cars from the manufacturer, as people look to buy eco-friendly second-hand cars.
MAZDA recently launched its own fuel-efficient, eco-friendly model. The Mazda3 includes "fuel-stretching 'i-stop' (Smart Idling Stop System) technology", so the model does not waste fuel when the vehicle is stopped.
