Families looking for a new practical vehicle might like to turn their attention to Renault's Kangoo.
Despite is boxy looks, the model provides good value for money for those who cannot af FORD to take out large Car Finance deals.
According to Parker's, the model's 1.2-litre petrol engine can struggle when the vehicle is full laden, but the 1.4-litre diesel alternative performs well with regard to fuel economy while the 1.6-litre option is lively.
Space inside the model has been well used, with the addition of storage compartments under the roof and headroom is impressive.
The steering can feel vague, however, and the seats could benefit from being more supportive.
All models are fitted with height adjustable headrests, see me home lights, driver and front passenger airbags, an antilock braking system and power steering.
The model also achieved four out of five stars in Euro NCAP safety tests and is available from as little as £8,634.
