Renault – Banking on the electric car

Feb 9 2010
The world has finally sat up and taken notice of the tremendous threat to the environment through release of fossil fuels and also the fact that oil reserves are not going to remain for ever. The need for an alternative and clean source of energy to drive automobiles has been felt for a long time now and some break through have been made in this direction.
The most exciting of them is the electric car and given the initial response, it is all set to become the most sought after and preferred mode of energy. Renault firmly believes in its future and have therefore launched their own electric car version that they feel will pull them out of the miserable situation they have found themselves in, thanks to the global recession which forced them come out with deep cuts in manufacturing and labour.
They are going full throttle to become the premier manufacturer of electric cars by the year 2011 and are also working out not only affordable pricing but effective and cheap car credit and car finance options to lure customers. They believe that by the year 2030, electric cars would be very common and they are doing everything they can to prepare for it.
