Renault Announces Free EV Recovery Service

Renault will literally be going out of its way to make the electric car experience as painless as possible for UK car credit buyers. They took the bold step of announcing a free EV recovery service when their 3 electric cars go on sale later this year.

 

The 'get you home' guarantee is for those UK car credit drivers who drove the car within its battery range, but were delayed by traffic jams or forced to use power-hungry devices such as the lights or windscreen wipers.

 

According to Renault such a driver will be provided with a replacement vehicle. They were not prepared to say, however, how often a driver could make use of this service.

 

The company is of course trying to address one of the biggest fears facing UK car credit owners with electric cars: range anxiety. If you run out of petrol with your conventional car, it's not a huge issue to get to the nearest petrol station. If your electric car runs out of steam, it's a completely different scenario.

 

Renault is investing heavily in electric car technology and it's understandable that the company will do everything in their power to make it a success. Their first electric car, the Fluence, will be on showroom floors at the end of 2011. The Twizy will follow next year and in 2013 UK car credit buyers will be able to purchase their first Zoe.

 

All 3 vehicles are very close to production format at present. The Fluence is a fairly traditional sedan car, while the Zoe is closely related to the new generation Clio.
