Renault Confirms Prices for new Twizy

May 16 2011 Renault Confirms Prices for new Twizy Image

There is a lot of public interest in Renault’s new urban runabout called the Twizy.  With a price tag of less than £7,000 it is understandable that the Twizy will attract attention.  With the order books now open we will soon see exactly how many car buyers will take the vehicle seriously enough to actually sign on the dotted line.

Renault calls the Twizy the city car of the future.  The company has just announced the very important pricing structure for their new car in the UK.  The fully electric two-seater will sell from as little as £6,690.

Many car credit buyers interested in the new Renault will only need to go to www.renault-ze.com and pay a £20 deposit.  That way they can ensure they will be first on the list when the car becomes available at the beginning of 2012.

The headline news does not tell the full story about this nifty little city car.  There will be two trim levels: Technic and Urban.  The Technic will carry higher specs and cost £7,400.  The battery lease will cost an additional £40 per month or £480 a year – based on 4,800 miles a year.  The Urban will cost £6,690.  In Europe a lower-priced model without doors will also be on sale, but that will not be available in the UK.

The motoring press has already carried out a number of road tests on the little newcomer and so far everyone agreed on one thing: the Twizy is a lot of fun to drive.
