Car Finance customers in two minds over a new SEAT model could be persuaded by new figures showing the car could be a good future investment.
According to experts, the latest Ibiza, which entered the market of new cars for sale this month, will retain at least 43 per cent of its purchase price after three years and 36,000 miles.
CAP New Monitor has produced the residual value figures for the 1.6 Sport version of the car and also said the 1.4 SE edition would retain 44 per cent of its initial price.
Martin Ward of CAP said: "The new Ibiza has much-improved quality over the outgoing car and much of the interior is as good as some more premium brands."
He added the car's quality would "stand the test of time", making it a good investment when bought new.
Seat's range also includes the Altea model which has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating and a selection of high-performance engines up to a 2.0-litre TSI.
