Seat’s electric car debut

Apr 25 2010 Seat has also made its debut in the electric car segment and this was made known at the Motor Show held at Geneva. The company has been conspicuous by its absence from this segment and will be hoping to make an impact in the market by selling many such cars on easy car credit terms to its patrons very soon.
The VW owned manufacturer is also believed to be serious about a hybrid variant running on petrol and electric that will be based on the Volkswagen Golf platform. It is also planning a Seat Leon plug-in hybrid version for release sometime in the year 2014. The company surely wants to make up for lost time and is sparing no effort to provide stiff competition to its illustrious peers.
The Spanish government is also doing its best to encourage the production of such environment friendly cars as everybody also wants to save on fuel costs as well. Spain has been spending a lot of money on developing other sources of energy and is targeting to meet about 30% of its requirement through such means by the year 2010.
