Seat focuses on sporty side

Apr 20 2009 Spanish car manufacturer Seat has announced new details of its two new hot hatches that it says strengthen the firm's "sporty" reputation.

The new Leon Cupra and Ibiza FR will be unveiled to the world at the Barcelona Motor Show in May, but the firm has revealed some new design details of the vehicles - although pricing will not be known until much nearer the release date.

The arrival of the two new models could help to encourage more people to consider purchasing used cars from the Seat line and could also increase the number of used cars in the market as more people opt to buy the new sporty versions and trade in their old cars.

Bold vents beneath the honeycomb central grille, a new bumper and a polished steel oval tailpipe are among the enhancements to the new Leon Cupra, while the Ibiza FR is equipped with a state-of-the-art 150 PS twincharger 1.4 TSI engine.

Earlier this month, Seat revealed demand for its used cars had increased over recent months, with some models seeing a 14 per cent rise in value during March compared to their February price.
