Seat unveils Ibiza Bocanegra

May 8 2009 Seat has wowed the crowds at this year's Barcelona International Motor Show with the debut of the new Ibiza Bocanegra.

First unveiled as a concept car at the Geneva Motor Show just over a year ago, the new arrival is now ready for motorists to buy.

"The surprise unveiling of Luc Donckerwolke's brilliant design concept at Geneva last year caused a real buzz around the show and I'm sure the appearance of this remarkable production version will do the same in Barcelona," said Peter Wyhinny, head of Seat UK.

He added: "I'm very much looking forward to seeing right-hand drive versions of the Ibiza Bocanegra turning heads on UK roads later this year."

The most striking features of the new vehicle are centred around the unique and dramatic black styling elements at its nose, from where the vehicle gets its name, as Bocanegra translates to 'black mouth' in Spanish.

The 2009 Barcelona International Motor Show has been declared an Event of Exceptional Public Interest on the occasion of its 90th anniversary, giving it the same status as such major events as the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and the Seville Universal Exposition.
