Buyers taking out secured Car Loans to purchase a new vehicle could have extra reason to head to their nearest SEAT dealership.

According to CAP Motor Research, Seat models boast some of the best residual values on the market.

With the credit crunch now in full swing, more and more motorists are looking to hang on to their cars as they seek to avoid any unnecessary outgoings.

The recent drop in used car prices may therefore be bad news for many, but Seat models continue to hold their value.

Latest figures show that the Ibiza SC 1.2 is expected to retain 44 per cent of its original list price over the next three years or 60,000 miles of driving.

And while this is good news for existing owners, the statistic should not be overlooked by car loans customers looking to buy new, said head of Seat Peter Wyhinny.

"The importance of strong residual values to new car buyers cannot be overstated," he claimed.

"Statistics like the ones we see from CAP … reassure buyers that they are investing in a desirable model."

According to British Car Auctions' Peterborough centre, used cars from FORD also remain in high demand from buyers.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18985252-ADNFCR
