Subaru reveals specifications for BRZ

The Subaru BRZ has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the brand in the UK.  The good news is that the UK version will come fitted with quite a generous standard equipment list.

The new model is a 2+2 coupe that has already created quite a stir at Subaru dealers across the United Kingdom.  In fact, many of them have already received deposits from customers without the latter even knowing what the specifications or the price of the new model will be.

The top-of-the-range model will be fitted with LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, MP3 connectivity (although we cannot say at this stage whether this will include audio streaming and Bluetooth phone connectivity), torque-sensing LSD, seven airbags and the company’s trademark vehicle dynamic control (VDC).

The BRZ will come with a six-speed short-throw manual gearbox as standard, but buyers will have the option of a six-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.

In the UK Subaru will also offer a lower-spec version of the BRZ later in 2012, as well as a stripped down version that will be aimed at those buyers who prefer to tune their own vehicles – and, of course, those car enthusiasts who would like to attend track days.

Initially the new model will be available in six colours, including the company’s popular Blue Mica, Sterling Silver, Satin White, Dark Metal Grey, Crystal Black Silica and San Remo Red.

The BRZ will be powered by a 2.0-litre Boxer engine delivering 147kW.
