This may come as a surprise - that you can end up paying more for a new car under the scrappage scheme. The Car Finance offered by TOYOTA would range between 3.9% and 5.9% APR for a brand new Toyota Avensis. The APR would depend on the deposit and terms of the agreement. With normal car finance you will get the Toyota Avensis on the road for sixteen thousand five hundred and sixty five pounds. But under the scrappage scheme with the car finance from the manufacturer, the Toyota Avensis will cost you seventeen thousand two hundred and sixty four pounds. This means you end up paying nearly seven hundred pounds over the list price.
The Toyota Avensis now only comes as an estate, as Toyota has discontinued the hatchback. The new Toyota Avensis is an excellent car and is extremely comfortable and spacious. There is a choice of petrol and diesel engines and the 1.8L petrol engine performs well. In the diesels, the 2.0L does the zero to sixty mile sprint in 10 seconds. All the engines are excellent and very reliable. The Toyota Avensis is an excellent family car. But do you want to pay the extra pounds for car finance to get this car? You don’t have to put a deposit to get the Toyota Avensis under the scrappage scheme.
