Environmentally-conscious Car Loans customers may be interested to learn that TOYOTA is launching a Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHV) road trial in partnership with EDF Energy.
The trial, which is the first of its kind in the UK, will last a year and will see EDF employees test Toyota's right-hand drive PHV.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the car's battery can be re-charged using a standard electrical plug and travel short distances powered entirely by electricity, or switch to function as a normal hybrid for longer journeys features which may interest Car Finance customers looking to cut motoring costs.
Koei Saga, managing officer in charge of hybrid system development at Toyota, said the company was "very excited" to develop its road testing programme in the UK.
"Today's announcement represents a step change towards acceptance of electricity in combination with hybrid technology as a viable and sustainable transport solution," he remarked.
Earlier this year, Toyota announced that its Prius hybrid car topped the JD Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction surveyed in France, Germany and the UK.
