Car loans news: Toyota lands green award
Jan 27 2009Secured Car Loans applicants looking to play their part in saving the environment might take a trip to their nearest TOYOTA dealership when buying their next vehicle.
The manufacturer has been named Green Car Manufacturer of the year by users logging onto the The Green Car Website.
With an increasing number of mainstream manufacturers now looking to improve their environmental credentials over the past 12 months, competition for the title was tough.
However, 29 per cent of visitors named Toyota as the firm that had done the most to advance greener motoring during the year, with second placed HONDA taking 26 per cent of the votes.
Miguel Fonseca, managing director at Toyota GB, said the manufacturer was "delighted and honoured" to have landed the award.
"Toyota works continuously to achieve ever higher environmental standards in all areas of its operations ... [and] bring substantial reductions in emissions and fuel consumption," he said.
Greener and more fuel-efficient motoring has become a major concern for many unsecured car loans customers this year as drivers look to reduce costs to help beat the credit crunch.
