Safety-conscious Car Finance customers may be pleased to know that Japanese car manufacturer TOYOTA has developed the first ever rear window curtain shield airbag.
The supplemental restraint system is intended to protect passengers sat in the rear of a vehicle if it is involved in a collision from behind.
Its new technology is deployed from the lining of the car's roof above the rear windscreen to create a "curtain-like barrier", the firm stated.
"Toyota has continued to actively develop and make available its collision safety technologies ... to enable its vehicles to better respond to a greater range of accidents," the company said.
Car Loans customers keen to benefit from the new safety system will be able to when Toyota's new iQ four-seater is launched.
The iQ is less than three metres long and is "ideally suited" to urban environments, the firm said recently.
Car buyers in the UK were recently able to catch a glimpse of the new vehicle while it was on display at the Royal College of Art last month.
