TOYOTA has had a rough time over the last few months having to recall specific models of cars sold to customers through Car Credit and car loan schemes due to technical problems. One of them related to the sudden acceleration experienced by drivers and that was taken up seriously with the car maker.
It now transpires that this problem was due to driver error in those cars and some unnamed sources have confirmed that officials of the NHTSA or the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration have come to this conclusion. However, the NHTSA itself believes that the source could be some Toyota officials and it was just too early to come to such conclusions given the fact that they still had to do a lot of investigation.
What is however surprising is that how did any official of Toyota get access to the findings of the NHTSA especially when the body has confirmed that it has not released any report of its findings so far.
This confusion obviously is not something that the industry or Toyota fans are happy about and till the time something conclusive is reported about what indeed caused those technical problems, the cloud of doubt will remain.
