Toyota’s FT-86 plan put off

Jul 23 2010 The list of problems seems to be increasing for Toyota. After having issues with a couple of its models regarding safety and having to recall them, the company now it seems would not be able to go ahead with its much awaited FT-86 and as per the latest report, it would take another couple of years for its appearance on the road.
The reason is that the company itself is not too satisfied with the design and does not want to do a hurried job about it. It does not want to launch this design next year as it expects economic conditions to remain uncertain and hence demand for such cars would also not be too strong.
Toyota had teamed up with Subaru for this endeavor and when it was unveiled last year, the hopes were bright that this sports car would be launched soon and would have customers buying it through the car credit schemes that the company would back it with.
However, those hopes now lie dashed and fans will have to wait for a long time for this one to hit the roads.
