Toyota Yaris wins MPG Marathon
Oct 14 2008Car Loans customers looking for an economic vehicle might want to consider the TOYOTA Yaris after it won a smarter driving challenge.
The 2008 ALD Automotive/Total Excellium MPG Marathon saw the car achieve 84.66mpg to be crowned the winner of the event.
Meanwhile the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 showed the greatest improvement in fuel economy over the manufacturer's figures.
It achieved 30.96mpg compared to Corvette's official figure of 19.2mpg, showing that so-called gas-guzzling vehicles could still be an option for eco-friendly Car Finance customers.
Organisers say the event proved that skilful driving can dramatically reduce the cost of motoring and cut carbon dioxide emissions.
It is not what you drive but how you drive it, comments organiser Ross Durkin.
"Skilled driving techniques work and can make a dramatic impact upon miles per gallon."
This week Autoglym is urging car finance customers to protect their investments by keeping cars clean, inside and out.
It says more motorists are looking to maintain their cars rather than replace them.
