New Vauxhall Astra Announced

The competition in the five-door hatch market has just become even fiercer with the announcement by Vauxhall that it will be introducing a new Astra range.  Vauxhall has stated that it will offer standard levels of trim and equipment on the new range, which other manufacturers only offer as extra-cost options.

The bottom of the range is a 1.4 litre Turbo model. It comes standard with a satellite navigation system, and includes an MP3 player, USB, CD player, iPod control, aux-in socket and seven speakers, as well as a DAB radio, Bluetooth, air conditioning and 17inch alloy wheels. At £18,110 it is certainly very competitively priced and will no doubt appeal to many car loan buyers.

For those who prefer a diesel car, Vauxhall offers the Astra ES Tech with a 125PS 1.7 litre CDTi engine. With emissions at well below 120g/km, Vauxhall is certainly now a strong contender in the green market. At £19,530 the ES Tech offers a lot of value for your money, with standard features including satellite navigation and cruise control. Fuel consumption is also a key selling point at 62.8 mpg and could very likely be the key factor in convincing car loan users to seriously consider this vehicle.

According to Vauxhall's managing director, Duncan Aldred, the company is well aware that the competition in the compact car class is fierce. "The new ES Tech models now raise the bar for value and equipment levels in the class and should make buyers think twice before putting their hard-earned cash down on a Ford or VW."

Consumers who rely on a car loan to finance their vehicle purchase will undoubtedly welcome Vauxhall's announcement. It puts a car with features that could previously only be enjoyed if you paid for optional extras within the reach of the average car buyer.
