New engine for Vauxhall saloon 'may appeal' to car loan customers

Vauxhall's "super saloon" is getting an upgrade in time for summer with new versions boasting a V8 engine.

The firm has souped-up its VXR8 and added new colour and equipment options for the quickest motor to wear the company's recently re-designed griffin badge.

A VXR8 with the new muscle and automatic transmission will now go from zero to 60mph in 4.9 seconds, making it an ideal potential candidate for car loan customers seeking a high-performance saloon.

A VAUXHALL statement read: "The new unit allows the VXR8 to raise the bar yet again among its rivals, optimising its sophisticated rear-wheel drive chassis still further."

Green-minded car loan customers looking for a new vehicle could be pleased to know the new engine unit, known as the LS3, produces the same emissions and fuel consumption as the outgoing version.

The VXR8 includes brake disks Vauxhall say will stop the car in around 36 metres at 60mph, and rear suspension is controlled by electronic active safety chassis control.

Car Finance customers tempted by the new VXR8 could be interested in the car's £35,695 price tag.
