For years, UK car loan buyers had to be content with a single seven-seater model from Vauxhall. Drivers will therefore be delighted to hear that the company has at last announced a rival to the Ford S-MAX: the Zafira Tourer Concept. The car will debut at next week's Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.
The car will not be available on showroom floors before September, but according to the motoring press, the final product will look exactly like the one you will see at the Geneva show.
Car loan buyers will be familiar with the boomerang-style headlight clusters; they are borrowed from the Ampera hybrid car. The Tourer also features Vauxhall's latest single bar grill. The blade-shaped creases in the side panels will appeal to many drivers, though perhaps not all.
MPV car loan buyers are those seeking comfort and flexibility. Vauxhall has spared no expense in giving them exactly that with the new Tourer. The large windscreen provides more than ample light. The full-length glass roof and the windscreen flow seamlessly into each other.
The car's seating layout has also been improved. The centre row's middle seat can fold away, allowing the two outer seats to be moved to the back or towards the middle to provide more space. There are also footrests that can extend. The concept car features iPads mounted on pivots in the back of the car, but this will probably not be carried over to production models. The Zafira Tourer is powered by a 1.4 litre turbo engine.
