In what can only be described as good news for used car finance users, Vauxhall has announced that it is extending its lifetime warranty to approved used cars in the manufacturer's Network Q program. This move is sure to have a positive effect on the resale value of second-hand Vauxhall cars.
To qualify for the program, the used car must have less than 30,000 miles on the clock and be less than 12 months old. Only the second owner of a car will be covered under the program as it will not include any subsequent owners. The car will be covered until it has clocked 100,000 miles.
As part of the conditions of the warranty, the owner must take the car to a Vauxhall dealer for a free inspection at least once a year. The car also has to be regularly serviced according to Vauxhall's specifications.
In terms of the Network Q lifetime warranty programme, the power train, brake system, steering and electrical system of qualifying cars are all covered for the lifetime of the vehicle. Drivers who made use of used car finance to buy their Vauxhall will no doubt gain the most benefits.
Dealers will be fully trained in the new system from January 2011. The programme will also be widely advertised on national television and in newspapers to ensure that both buyers and dealers are fully informed regarding all aspects of the system.
Network Q is the largest used car programme in the United Kingdom. To qualify for the network, a car is first thoroughly checked by qualified Vauxhall technicians. The programme is also a favourite among used car finance providers, since they can be sure that the vehicle being financed is in good condition.
