Automaker Vauxhall is already famous for managing to make its small cars more powerful. They have now done the same with the Corsa, and crammed an extra 13bhp into the Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition. Not only does the car have greater power, but the suspension and breaks have also been beefed up.
The revamped engine now delivers 202 brake horse power and 280 Nm of torque - not bad for a 1.6 litre turbo model. The car accelerates from 0-60 mph (100 km/h) in an impressive 6.5 seconds. What is going to impress car finance buyers even more is the top speed, which now stands at 143 miles an hour.
Vauxhall achieved all this by tweaking the turbocharger, improving the engine management system, adding a sportier exhaust and making the engine run on 98 RON petrol.
The brakes and chassis have also undergone a revamp. To provide better traction and limit under-steer, a new differential was introduced. The suspension now features special Bilstein dampers and springs. Many car enthusiasts, including car finance buyers, will be impressed by the fact that the suspension has been tuned on the infamous Nordschleife loop at Nurburgring.
The new Brembo brakes are 30% lighter, yet provide more stopping power. The traction control, ABS and stability control have also been upgraded.
To make the Nurburgring Edition stand out in a crowd, the car features a dual exhaust from stainless steel and grey high gloss alloy wheels. The Nurburgring logo features prominently on both the outside and inside of the car.
Those car finance buyers wanting to purchase the new Corsa can do so from May. The price is £22,295.
