Vauxhall gadget 'could interest gadget fans and car finance customers'

Jun 19 2008

VAUXHALL has announced a ground breaking new feature for a model line which could tempt Car Finance customers fond of motoring gadgets.

The firm says its Insignia series be available with front camera systems from early 2009, with the technology a possible attraction for car finance customers interested in safety devices.

The system reads speed limit and no-overtaking signs and displays them on the instrument panel, while also alerting drivers when they unintentionally veer out of their lane.

Managing director of GME Engineering Hans Demant explains: "These new features follow Vauxhall’s philosophy of enhancing driving excitement by assisting drivers without reducing their level of control."

Known as Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Departure Warning, the dual system is designed to improve driving safety and reduce stress.

Vauxhall recently unveiled a new V8 engine for its VXR8 model, called the LS3 and reducing the car's zero to 60mph time down to 4.9 seconds for automatic versions.
