Car manufacturer VAUXHALL has announced the launch of the most economical vehicle it has ever created, offering a more environmentally-friendly option for motorists.
The new Corsa uses the company's ecoFLEX technology to cut carbon emissions by 14 grammes per kilometre compared to previous versions, allowing it to become the most eco-friendly model in Vauxhall's line-up.
"Now officially Vauxhall's most economical production vehicle in its 106-year history, the 3-door only Corsa ecoFLEX will pave the way for even more efficient vehicles, such as the groundbreaking Ampera," the company promised.
The development could result in more Vauxhall vehicles coming into the used car market, as more people upgrade to the more environmentally-friendly Corsa.
Despite the global recession having a negative impact on car sales across the world, small cars such as the Corsa have fared much better, as a growing number of people look to downsize their vehicles to cut costs and also become more concerned about their carbon footprint.
Earlier this month, Vauxhall unveiled the first pictures of its new-look Astra, marking the sixth generation of the successful model.
