Car loans news: Golf gets five-star safety rating
Oct 24 2008Customers applying for a Car Loans quote ahead of purchasing a new vehicle might consider the new VOLKSWAGEN Golf a worthy investment after it received a maximum five-star safety rating.
The car scored 36 points out of a possible 37 for occupant protection under the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP) crash test, making it one of the safest vehicles available.
Seven airbags, including a knee airbag, come as standard across the new range, while Car Credit customers are also protected by the Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), ABS braking and new whiplash reducing headrests.
The vehicle also features a new stronger chassis structure and side impact protection, and can also be ordered with additional sensors that tell the driver whether back SEAT passengers are wearing seatbelts.
Prices starting from £13,150 may tempt Car Finance customers into buying the car, which hits UK showrooms in January 2009.
Volkswagen recently sold its 25 millionth Golf since the launch of the original model in 1974.
