A greener diesel version of the Touareg is being added to the VOLKSWAGEN range, car loan customers planning an eco-friendly purchase may be interested o read.
The 3.0-litre diesel model, which is Euro 5 compliant, has been revised to include a common rail system.
It is fitted with a diesel particulate filter and cuts the amount of CO2 produced from 278 grams per kilometre (km) as per the earlier model to 262 grams per km.
Currently, the vehicle already accounts for 68 per cent of Touareg sales - a figure that could increase as a result of the addition of the common rail system appealing to green-minded consumers.
This is despite the engine offering improved power performance of achieving zero to 62 mph in 8.3 seconds compared with the previous result of 9.2 seconds.
Volkswagen states that the vehicle also provides drivers with "unrivalled levels of on-road comfort".
