Sporty Volkswagen could tempt car loans

Volkswagen-loving car loan customers could go for a sporty new model the manufacturer has released to coincide with a racing event.

The Scirocco GT24 Concept has been unveiled after two factory versions of the car competed at the Nurburgring 24-hour race, watched by some Car Finance customers over the weekend.

VOLKSWAGEN unveiled the car at the annual Worthersee Festival in Austria and revealed the model is based on the shell of the Scirocco race car.

Volkswagen said: "Although many components are carried over from the road car – a testament to their strength – the Scirocco GT24's dimensions vary significantly."

Differences include a 227mm gain in length and 61mm gain in width to accommodate a wider track.

Lightweight Recaro bucket seats also feature and a unique steering wheel has a built-in electronic display.

Volkswagen revealed the road-going Scirocco, on which the GT24 concept is based, goes on sale in the UK on August 29th.
