Volkswagen's new Golf model has achieved the top score in Euro NCAP safety tests, Car Credit customers may be interested to read.
The news may be of particular interest to those planning to use their car credit deal to invest in a safe new model this year.
According to Volkswagen, not only did the offering attain a five-star result, it also gained the highest overall rating of any vehicle.
In previous assessments, safety features such as electronic stability programmes were not taken into account when conducting the test. However, electronic safety and assistant systems that are used to prevent injury are now also evaluated as part of the examination.
The model is also fitted with whiplash-optimised head restraints in response to the rear crash test element, which looks at the load on the cervical spine.
VOLKSWAGEN commented: "The new EuroNCAP rating has further advantages for the consumer: using the new overview evaluation, customers can quickly determine the overall safety rating of a vehicle and also make easy comparisons."
In the past few months, Volkswagen has unveiled its Golf Plus and Golf Bluemotion vehicles.
