Volkswagen’s electric car initiative

Feb 24 2010
Volkswagen in keeping with the current theme and actions of its competitors has also decided to take the green route with its Volkswagen Golf. This electric vehicle known as the Blue Motion Rabbit is their answer and efforts to provide a vehicle running on alternate fuel technology. Though they hope to launch this car initially in Germany and back it up with good car finance and car credit options to make it easier for consumers to buy it, they are also hoping that when they do hit the roads in America, the response will be as encouraging and positive.
Besides the obvious fuel saving benefits, the other features in the form of the energy conservation and regeneration that is possible with the brake unit, the gear box duly modified to ensure that the car always runs at the right speed using the right gears and the extremely light weight wheel designed such that the rolling resistance is very low are enough by themselves to make this car very popular amongst cost and environmentally conscious consumers.
These features by them selves lend this vehicle an attraction that consumers will find hard to ignore. Moreover, it also has a 1.6 liter engine delivering a modest 105HP to ensure fuel optimisation to the fullest.
