Volkswagen unveils new Golf Estate

May 26 2009

Car manufacturer VOLKSWAGEN has debuted the Estate version of its highly successful Golf model.

The company has given the new car "a fresh look, revised engines and the latest comfort and safety technologies".

Among the new features is a more environmentally-friendly engine, offering improved fuel efficiency that ensures not only lower emissions but also lower refuelling costs for drivers.

The new Estate will be available on garage forecourts in early 2010, while Volkswagen dealers will begin taking orders for the new model in early October, the company has stated.

The arrival of the new car could result in more large vehicles coming into the used car market as more people look to upgrade to the Golf Estate.

Small vehicles have become increasingly popular over recent months as drivers look to cut costs during the recession, but Volkswagen will be hoping it can get the larger market moving again with the introduction of its new Estate.

Earlier this month, Volkswagen unveiled new concepts of both its Golf and Polo vehicles.
