The Volvo C30 DRIVe Electric

Nov 8 2010 The Volvo C30 DRIVe electric vehicle has got its fair share of attention in the international community. Many customers have evinced interest and even the first contract has been signed. This vehicle is also sure to be bought by many Volvo fans using car credit finance schemes.
The car looks very similar to the usual Volvo C30 in terms of space, comfort as well as safety features. The only major difference is that this would run on electricity and would be very environment friendly due to no carbon emissions. That is because this electric car gets its charge from a renewable source. It would also have a range of 150 kilometres.
This project at the moment covers about 250 vehicles and the initial block of ten vehicles would be delivered to the energy major Goteborg Energi beginning autumn 2010.
Volvo says that the response from the market has been quite encouraging and they are willing to even ramp up production should this demand continue. This is as per the director Lennart Stegland.
The Volvo C30 DRIVe Electric has a lithium battery and can reach a maximum speed of 130 kilometres per hour.
