Used car buyers are ignoring the credit crunch and continuing to make strong bids for classic cars at auction, it has been claimed.
According to British Car Auctions (BCA), its latest sale attracted a number of high bids from buyers, some of whom may have unsecured Car Loans.
A 1979 Ferrai 308 GTS attracted the highest bid of the day at £18,425, while a 1967 VOLVO P1800S, a 1932 Wolseley Hornet Special and a 1986 Sierra RS Cosworth were among the other cars for sale.
Commenting on the success of the event, Robin Lawton, Classics from BCA manager, said 37 cars were sold and several hundreds of buyers attended the auction.
"A number of cars sold for well above their estimate, which suggests there is a ready market for interesting and unusual vehicles, despite the current economic conditions," he remarked.
Car Finance customers may be interested to know that they can purchase used cars at 21 BCA auction centres in the UK, as well as several across Europe.
