Volvo cuts SUV's emissions in overhaul

May 8 2008

VOLVO has cut emissions of one SUV model as it released updates aimed at easing the tax burden of potential car buyers and car loan customers.

The Volvo XC90 D5 Geartronic now has a lower CO2 figure and can be ordered now ahead of a June arrival in showrooms across the country.

A sports-inspired R-DESIGN has also be unveiled for the premium series, with optional colours and alloy wheels also among options that could prompt new Car Loans.

A Volvo statement on the D5 Geartronic XC90's emissions read: "Now at 224g/km, it is the only premium standard seven- SEAT SUV available which achieves a sub 225g/km figure in both manual and automatic."

The new edition model could appeal to Car Finance customers looking to keep a lid on their car tax costs when buying a new SUV.

Volvo also said the 2009 models bring minimal price changes to the XC90, with some increasing by up to £150 and others decreasing by £210, such as the D5 R-DESIGN.

An already comprehensive rear seat entertainment package has also been upgraded, which could appeal to car loan customers with young children.

The current XC90 range has four engine options up to a nippy 4.4-litre V8.ADNFCR-1366-ID-18585659-ADNFCR
