Chevrolet, or Chevy as it’s colloquially referred is a popular division of the American automotive giant General Motors Company (GMC). With the motto set in 1915 of “a car for every purse and purpose”, the company has very much adhered to this vision with a very generous offering amongst different vehicle types. Besides their notable success in providing iconic American muscles cars with the Corvette and Camaro, Chevrolet have also experienced great success and are perhaps most recognised for their pickup trucks.
As well as the standard car range for the masses Chevrolet offer performance, crossovers, SUVs, trucks, commercial and electronic car ranges. The Chevrolet’s Spark competes well in the all ready overcrowded city car market, offering a unique style and highly competitive pricing. Skipping through the models, the Cruze saloon is a lot of car for small money, using the same GM chassis as the Vauxhall Astra. With good environmental credentials, Chevy’s Volt offers an electric/petrol hybrid to the market and has been noted to drive well. The Camaro still holds its ground with its iconic styling still intact but upgraded for a modern feel. Furthermore, the modern day Camaro can handle corners well, following extensive work creating a suspension system to compliment the car.
With a recent announcement by the company to withdraw its brand from Europe in 2016 (with the exception of Camaro and Corvette), Chevrolet are appealing to the type of driver that likes to be seen in something a little different from the rest.
