"Our Exploder"

Exterior and Interior

If you are looking for a 4 wheel drive with all the luxury and no extras to buy then this is the one for you. Ours is red and we love it. Plenty of room for all the family and dogs. Leather seats, automatic, comfortable adjustable seats, chunky steering wheel and electric everything. Beautiful!

Performance and Economy

Very thirsty on fuel. lucky if you get 20 mpg. But that said we use this car to pull our boat so need the horses. This is not a problem for us as I drive a more efficient car for the everyday stuff. When it snows I hardly notice as the four wheel drive is just fantastic for this kind of weather. Love it even though it is thirsty.

Like to Drive

As a woman or should I say lady, I find this car has great visibility with big mirrors, so parking is not a problem. Would recommend if you have a need for a big 4x4 to pull heavy weights. Very comfortable and not too bouncy unlike other 4x4's I have driven. <

Faults and Repairs

When we bought this car we knew that the timing chain would need to be done as it is a known fault. We got it done and have never had a problem. If you search the internet you can find many informative people who post on forums dedicated to the Explorer so you should never have a problem. If you need a part this can be tricky to source but there are companies who can get the parts from specialist wreckers. Not the easiest thing as these were imported from the USA so finding a mechanic to fix it can sometimes be a bit hit and miss. Luckily we have the Haynes manual and our mechanic is a bit of a dab hand. All in all a good honest 4x4
