Overview

"Mini Love"

Exterior and Interior

Metallic blue with white roof and white wing mirrors. Body work in great condition. Alloy wheels - 17 1/2'. Looks sporty and eyecatching. No rust on bodywork, but this model comes with a double skinned exhaust. The outer of which is flaking a bit, but the exhaust is still sound.

Performance and Economy

Good on fuel, handles great. Does about the same per tank as my partner's much newer diesel which is pretty impressive. Drives like a much bigger car - you don't feel like this is a small car when you are in it.

Like to Drive

Sporty suspension - not as smooth a ride as a town car, but great on the motorway and handles snow, rain or sun exceptionally well. The run flat tyres do make the car feel like its under control, and not prone to skidding. <

Faults and Repairs

The glovebox jammed - apparently a common fault so now i cant close it. Had to break the lock to get into it, and now I'm told the whole unit comes as one piece and is going to be costly to put right.

Overview

"Mini mi"

Exterior and Interior

It is small and compact on the outside but has enough room on the inside, it is small and neat and meets my needs, for a small female i don't need any more room and i can carry all my shopping in it! It also looks nice and shiny!

Performance and Economy

It is very economical and uses much less fuel than my friends car. I can go a lot of miles in it and it has never gone wrong, touch wood.

Like to Drive

It's lovely to drive, I'm terrible at parking but I can park in the smallest spaces very easily and nip in and out of traffic. It is also quite quiet to drive and very easy even for an infrequent driver like me. <

Faults and Repairs

I have to say it is faultless, I have not had any problems with it to date though its only my weekend run around so i don't use it much.

Overview

"Best car feeling"

Exterior and Interior

Exterior echoes the classic styling of the classic mini with chrome body trim and black pillars give the illusion of it being smaller than it is. It's an unmistakable modern icon. Inside the feel is like that of an aeroplane with toggle switches and big centre speedo. The seats are comfy and there is good legroom in the back. The feel is of a high quality and well thought out fun car which has a cult status and club scene attracting many fans.

Performance and Economy

The 1.6 delivers good acceleration and torque and pulls well in all gears. It corners tight and stable and makes you feel like a rally driver when your a little naughty with the throttle. In cold weather it performs well with grip and ABS stopping you when you need to.

Like to Drive

The feeling you get when you drive a mini makes you want your journey to be that bit longer. It has a big car feel but with sharp handling. It's comfortable on good roads, but on a rough road you can get bounced a bit as the suspensions really firm but that only adds to the fun. <

Faults and Repairs

Mine has reached 108,000 miles and has just had 1 wishbone bush replaced at the front from where I bump up the kerbs to park at a friends house on a narrow street. Apart from regular servicing I've experienced no faults with mine. I've put two sets of cheap tyres on it that I got secondhand in 2010 and I drive a lot of miles. They handle best on top quality tyres but so does every car.
